Red Rock Country Club is a guard-gated golf community on the western edge of Summerlin, with homes set along the Arroyo and Mountain courses and the canyon as the backdrop. Nearly every backyard here has a pool, many have a spa, and most of them face the fairway, which means the whole street can see the water.
We run weekly routes through the community. Every visit we skim the surface, brush the walls and steps, vacuum the floor, empty the skimmer and pump baskets, test the water and balance it. Red Rock Country Club is as far west as Summerlin goes. When the wind comes down off the canyon it crosses the open desert, picks up fine dust and drops it on the first thing it reaches, which is these pools. A yard on the course gets it from both sides.
